Blog In Audio:
Greetings,
Today I am in Bellingham. I was blessed to minister in my home church yesterday. We had a wonderful morning. My youngest grandson turned two today! He is a great blessing in our family. We celebrated as a family yesterday. It is a joy to celebrate the gifts of life and love.
The condition of the earth as we know it was the result of first Adam’s decision to choose the knowledge of good and evil over intimacy and trust with God who is eternal life. When he chose the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he chose an independence from God rather than dependance upon Him. We have all chosen that path in some form in our lives. At times we have concluded that the most important thing in life is being right. We have concluded that being wrong is the worst thing that can happen in our lives. This way of thinking is the thinking of those who live their lives in the independence of self. When we seek to be right unto ourselves, we end up making judgments of others for being wrong in some way. The righteousness of God is not about being right. It is about being in a righteous relationship with God—a relationship set upon the foundation of being loved by God.
Jesus came to reconcile us to God as our Father. His death upon the cross was the redemptive price to reconnect us to our heavenly Father in a relationship of dependence upon Him in all things. The glory of God is a reconnection of our lives to Him as His redeemed sons and daughters. The knowledge of God’s glory will increase in the earth to fill it, even as the waters cover the sea. What is the context of the glory of God covering the earth? The context is a changed character by the working of Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit is a sevenfold Spirit that anoints us to know the desires, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and a fear of the Lord that is the evidence of an awe for His purpose and will in all things. Jesus as the Christ, and we as the body of Christ are empowered by this life-giving Spirit of God. Our judgment in all things is by faith and not by sight.
Isaiah 11:1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. 2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. 3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
The Holy Spirit’s administration of grace empowers us to make judgments for the poor by a righteousness of life. With the equity of who we are we can make decisions for those who do not qualify according to the standards of right and wrong. They simply qualify through a judgment of love. As people of God, we must set the example of destroying evil through the power of love. When the devil strikes the earth, it is with a blow of hate and death, but the breath of God is a wind of love, and the measure of His mouth is a life-giving expression that destroys the power of evil.
Isaiah 11:4, 5 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist.
The substance of who we are in Christ is enough to give life to those who lack it. God’s love is what heals the differences in the hearts of men. We were not the people of God, but we have become the people of God in Christ. We are a people who have obtained the mercy of God, and we are empowered to live by His grace.
Isaiah 11:6 “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
These verses describe a restored creation marked by peace, safety, and harmony, where natural enemies live together without harm. This peace comes because the earth is filled with the knowledge of the Lord, just as waters cover the sea. God’s glory includes the reconciliation of man to God and of mankind to one another in the testimony of love. This reconciliation empowers our connection with one another through a bond of life and peace in Christ Jesus.
Blessings,
Ted J. Hanson
