I have just finished a great weekend in Deming, New Mexico with Pastor Cersar and CitiLife Church. Thank you so much for all who came to the meetings and thank you for your continued love for God and one another. It was great to be with you again. I look forward to seeing you all again in January.

God’s grace is a wonderful gift. It is the gift of God’s manifest presence in our hearts and lives. Grace is not a provision of God to make us new creations some day in the future. Grace empowers each of us to put on Christ and to walk as new creations in this life every day. If I am not putting on Christ, I am not changing. If I am not growing to be a father with an empowerment to see what God sees and to live for the sake of other, I am not endeavoring to live in and by grace. Those others that I live to give life to should be specific people in my world, not just generic concepts of people in the world. Who has God joined me to in this life and who has He given to me? Grace changes us so we grow up and become fathers or mothers for the sake specific others in our worlds. Sometimes we need to be moms. Sometimes we need to nurse or nurture someone. Sometimes we need to be fathers. Sometimes we need to empower others to overcome. My wife can be a father when she needs to be a father and I can also be a mother when I need to be a mother. My wife manifests the father better than many men I know, because she knows how to bring people forward and release them into their responsibility and destiny. Moms meet needs, but dads empower people to meet the needs of others. We need both. There is nothing wrong with our needs being met, but if just our needs are being met, we are not receiving the testimony of God’s inheritance. Grace brings us into destiny and destiny includes others in our lives.

God’s grace causes your world to change. If you have a job that is a good thing. If you don’t have a job, grace will help you get one. If you have a job and you work in an environment where everything is terrible, grace can empower you to change your work environment to something wonderful.  I taught my children this. My son, who is the pastor, used to work in secular business. He once had a job working for a subcontractor for another company. The main company hated the sub-contracting company and they made sure the sub-contracting company was assigned the hard and bad jobs. The employees of the main company would mock the employees of the smaller company. My son became a supervisor for the sub-company. The boss of the contracting company seemingly hated my son as well as all in the sub-company. My son chose to be a man of grace, because only a man of grace can show mercy to people of law. My son’s lifestyle, his work ethic, and his attitude changed his boss. One day his boss came to him with a book called The Shack, and said, Have you ever read this book? His boss was not a Christian. His boss was a mean law keeper in the world and God used my son to transform that man and the environment of the entire workplace. When my son left that job, the sub-contracting company that my son was a supervisor for was only spoken about favorable by the main company. They threw a big party for my son when he quit. This is a practical illustration how a man of grace can manifest truth and crumble lies and even transform a work environment.

Grace is real! It is the power of Holy Spirit at work in your life. It is a different administration and it causes you to be a different kind of earth. If you want to live as a new creature you must live with an administration of a new heaven, because the old heaven was law and the old creature was in bondage. The new creature is in liberty, because it is administrated by the law of liberty. The law of liberty is the testimony of grace.

Grace empowers us to subdue and to become real in life. We become truth and truth crumbles every lie. God wants us to become His likeness and image in this world. He wants us to become love, to become mercy, to become a testimony of life in and to all things. He wants us to become the substance of Him in all things. That is what happens to children of God when they grow up. We are a family of little children, overcoming sons and daughters, and fathers and mothers in the likeness and image of God in this world. The process begins with God’s mercy, but it unfolds by the power of God’s grace. God’s grace is the testimony of a relationship with God in all things. Grace is the power of God that changes us. God expresses Himself to us and life happens! Because of God’s mercy we can all boldly come to the throne of God’s grace and receive mercy for failures of our lives, but we also find grace that gives us the power to change in all things.

I had a great time yesterday at Everyone’s Church in Mt. Vernon, Wa. The presence of God was there, the people were there, and God graced an great message on being little ‘i ams’ in the big I Am of Christ.

Jesus came as God’s gift to change the world. His means of changing the world was with a handful of men that God had given Him. He came to reveal the Father to those men and to send them to the world even as God had sent Him to the world.

John 17: 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Jesus had not yet died for the sins of men, but He had finished the work that the Father gave Him to do. He came to reveal the Father to those God had given Him.

John 17:6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.

Jesus did not pray for the world. He only prayed for those that God had given Him. His world was a few men that had lived with Him and eaten at His table. He was going to send them to the world in the same way that the Father had sent Him.

John 17:9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.

Just as the disciples were sent, we have been sent to the world. We have been sent to some in the world to reveal the Father and His love to those that God had given Him. Who are those that are ours in this world? Do we know our task in this life?

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

I don’t live in the whole planet. I live in my world. I need to change my world. My world is formless. My world is void. My world is dark, but I have good news for my world and those that live in it. I live in my world. What is out of order is going to be placed in order by Christ in me. By Christ and me and by me as an expression of Christ with Jesus as my head. I am Eve. I am the Proverbs 31 woman. I am the bride of Christ. I am the one that Jesus looks at and says. oh babe! I am the one that Jesus looks at and says, honey you are comparable to me. Come along side of me in this. Let’s rule and reign together. Like Provers 31 says about this woman, I deal in the real estate of the earth on behalf of my husband. I go into the world even though I find my citizenship of heaven. I go into the world as the wife of Jesus and I buy the field that is in my path. Jesus says, O honey! I like it. That is a good idea. We have the money. What do you think honey?

Jesus, we could do this with it!

Woo! Honey, I like how you think. I was thinking we could bring life into it. It looks so empty. I think we should fill it up. Come on! You bear my name. You have My name! I sit in the gate and I have sent you even as I was sent by my Father!

I know you sit in the gate sir. I am good at receiving what you are giving so I can give to others also. I am good at believing what you say about me, so I can say good things about others too. I am good at coming along side of you in everything, so I can bring everyone alongside of me in everything in my world.

This is the masculine and feminine nature of God. I am not so stuck in the macho nature of my culture that I cannot be a woman, nor am I so stuck in my culture that I can’t be a man. We are all members of the bride of Christ. The body of Christ. It is by grace that we demonstrate we are the body of Christ, His governing body for the sake of those He has given us. We are the place He rests His head. We are the place where God lives. We make decisions on earth as it is in heaven and the world we live in changes. Grace is not so we will be a new creation someday. Grace is what empowers us to live as new creations in this world for the sake of those God has given to us. Mercy allowed us to be born again. We are new creations, but now God’s grace empowers us to live as new creations for the sake of our world.

This week I am in Castlegar, BC, Canada where I am teaching for a week on Grace and Authority. We have had a great start over the weekend and I am looking for a full week with some great hungry, willing, and teachable people. God’s grace transforms our lives and true authority gives life. These are great subjects for a great encounter with Christ.

To understand God’s plan we have to look at God’s book. In the first chapter in our Bible, God looks at a situation and has an idea to create the world as we know it and to create man. In the second chapter God revealed how man was to rule in the earth out of a relationship with Him. Through an intimate relationship with God man would be able to fulfill the commission to be fruitful, multiply, fill subdue, and have dominion in the earth. In Genesis chapter three we have a testimony of man eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This brought about the consequence of futility in man’s commission in the earth. God spoke words over the earth that subjected it to futility in the hope of one day returning man to an intimate relationship with Him in all things. After God’s perspective of creation, man’s experience of creation, and man’s fall to disconnection, we have the other books of the Bible. Sometimes we think that God created the world, He made man to be fruitful multiply, fill, subdue, and have dominion, man fell and God said, Shoot! I thought it would work? So, the rest is about how God is going to destroy it and take us to heaven. That kind of thinking is really quite foolish when you think of God and who He is. The missing piece has been intimacy of men with God, but God so loved the world He sent the solution. John chapter 1 reads like Genesis chapter 1.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

The word became flesh and He moved into the neighborhood. We saw Him as a man of grace and truth. A new Adam. He came so that humanity could fulfill the mandate to be fruitful, multiply, fill, subdue, and have dominion. The administration of His life was one of grace. Grace was the manifest presence of the Spirit of God in His life that motivated His heart and mind in all things. He was motivated by grace and thus He was a full manifestation of truth in human form. Grace was the government of the kingdom within His heart. Of this government and this peace there was to be no end.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Peace is a testimony of mercy. There is no gap between us and God. Grace is the power to reign. There is no end to the increase of this government or peace and the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters presently cover the sea.

Habakuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Why do the waters cover the sea? The decision of first Adam resulted in the consequence of flood and the earth was changed. God promises that the evidence of Last Adam, eternal Adam, will fill the whole earth. In your life, the evidence of first Adam is going to be overtaken by the evidence of eternal Adam. The old man is being overpowered by the new man. He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. There is no end to the increase. It is like leaven in three measures of meal. It fills the whole loaf. It is like a little mustard seed that is very small, but it grows to become like a tree. For each of us, Christ in me is the hope of glory! Grace is the ability to subdue and the result is truth. Truth is dominion. Truth crumbles every lie. Instead of pretending I love my neighbor, grace empowers me to be loving towards my neighbor until I become real. I love you! That crumbles the lie! It is a work of the Spirit. It is also a work in me. The result is my life casts a shadow that looks like law. If my life doesn’t cast a shadow that looks like law, I haven’t discovered grace. I am only living in mercy and I am pretending this is it. I am not subduing. I am not reigning. I am merely waiting to go to heaven. I am not partaking in the inheritance of the kingdom heaven. I am simply waiting to die so I can go to heaven. I am not living. I am not loving. I am not changing the world that I live in.

The mandate given to man by God is still good. He has made a provision for us to fulfill the commission of being fruitful, multiplying, filling, subduing and having dominion. That provision is Christ in us and He is the hope of glory. Christ in us is the empowerment of grace that transforms our lives in every way. We can subdue, we can experience God’s life, we can become carriers of God’s life, and givers of God’s life to the world. We can become real. We can become truth in Christ. By this we will exercise the dominion of Christ in our world.

It was a great time at Alife today. God was in the house and the family was hungry, willing, and teachable. I believe the church is in a new season of life. Get ready for the fruitfulness of God. This is His season to shine! God sees things before we do.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

I believe that Genesis chapter 1 is an account of creation from a covenant perspective of God. It is not a chapter detailing the facts of the creation of all things, but covenantal realities of God’s view of the earth, His creative power to deal with all things, and His purpose for man in His plan. God looked at a situation of need and began to bring order, fullness, and light. His ultimate climax was with the creation of mankind in His likeness and His image.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

I don’t know if anything existed prior to these verses. It is none of my business. All I know is that when the situation needed help, God did not just create, He was intimately committed to the situation. He made man in the likeness and image of Himself in the form of man and woman and they were given dominion over all the works of His hands. Man was not only to be fruitful, multiply and to fill the earth, he was to subdue and have dominion. To subdue and have dominion would mean that things that are out of order could be put in order and kept in order. It was not a matter of controlling it, but of giving it proper liberty. The earth needed fullness and abundance. To subdue would be to take something that is empty and cause it to be full. Dominion is to keep it going and growing in its fullness. If it is dark, to subdue is to turn the light on. Dominion would be to sustain and expand the light. Human beings were not just created to be fruitful, multiply and fill. Animals can be fruitful, multiply and fill, but only man was destined to subdue and bring dominion to the world. The world of animals never changes. It is the same as it has always been, but God’s governing agents in the earth were not just natural beings. They were spiritual beings of spirt, soul, and body to fill the earth with the glory of God.

In Genesis chapter two we see that God formed man from the dust of the earth. I believe that this is an account from the perspective or vantage point of humanity. What did it look like in the history of men and God? Chapter two doesn’t chronologically follow chapter one in history. It is a different perspective. One is from God’s vantage point and the other is from man’s. God looks and speaks, man experiences the effects of God speaking. God touches men and gives life to them. God saw a fruitful earth and He saw Adam and an Eve as the key to bringing heavenly things into an earthly world. God blessed what He saw. Man saw barrenness and dust, but God planted a garden in the East and put man there. Then man saw and abundance of trees, an abundance of life. He saw paradise. He saw God. He didn’t see Eve. Something inside of him said, you need an Eve. He didn’t know it, but what was inside of him was Eve. There was a need for a relationship of vulnerability, transparency, trust and partnership in all things. He was in this paradise relationship with God, but he needed to be able to expand that relationship to others. He didn’t need a pet, a servant, or a slave. He needed a co-reigning partner. There were four rivers and they flowed out of the garden to the barren fields of the world. God had a plan that was greater than the garden. His plan was to take the life of the garden to the barren places of the world. His plan included the life-giving attributes of subduing and dominion.

I am almost 62 years old, I haven’t been around long enough to have been in the garden of Eden, but I have been in the barrenness of the earth. I remember when He touched me, laid His hand upon me, breathing His life in me, and established a place in the earth where I could get to know Him. He commanded me to eat ­– He commanded me to live! I know what it is to need God, to know God, and to live with Him. God wants me to become like Him. He wants me to know a relationship of vulnerability, transparency, trust and partnership with others in all things. I am in a paradise relationship with God, but I need to be able to expand that relationship to others. I don’t need a pet, a servant, or a slave. I need to understand the truth of being a member in the body of Christ – a co-reigning partner with co-reigning members in partnership with God in all things.

In the garden man was to have a relationship with God where he could be sent forth in a life of being fruitful, multiplying, filling, subduing and having dominion. In the garden man experienced an administration of God’s influence where he could eat of all good things and of the tree of life for eternity, but man chose a tree of information instead of intimacy. He chose the tree of the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil. We need life, more than we need knowledge. We need one another more than we need the power to judge one another. We need to be people of mercy and grace for a destiny of giving mercy and reigning by grace in all things.

It was good to be in my home church in Bellingham on Sunday. Pastor Jonathan did a great job challenging all of us with keys to keeping our hearts connected to God and one another. Great job Pastor. I am again challenged with walking out the practical steps in growing in my relationship with God and others. It is great to be a part of a culture of grace in an intimate relationship with God and one another!

Grace is more powerful than law. God never intended for law or merely the human conscience to be the rule of administration for mankind. The empowerment of the heart of mankind was always meant to be by a personal relationship with God through the human heart. Jesus was a man full of grace and truth and He exhibited the testimony of a man empowered by the internal kingdom of God. Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit ruled in His heart and the testimony of the kingdom of God was preached through His life as a firstborn of a supernaturally born race of humanity. He was the proof that the internal empowerment of the kingdom of God was the way of life for all men.

Luke 16:16 “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time, the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.”

The law and the prophets were good. They were teachers that told men who God was in His character, nature, way, power, and authority. Although man was created in the likeness and the image of God, the law revealed to mankind that they were no longer like God in their character, nature, way, power, and authority. They were guilty of being disconnected from their true-life source. Their identity and authority had been perverted from the truth of their creation. They needed God. The law revealed the flaws in the character of men and it revealed the mercy of God by the provisions given to atone for and cover men’s sin. The law revealed the failure of the character of men and the goodness of the character of God. The judgments of the law were not attributes of an unloving God, but a consequence of the flawed character of unloving men. The law told men they were guilty and they should die, but there were provisions to help men in their weakness. Those provisions include the giving of life of another to cover their sin with a testimony of love. This was depicted in the sacrifice of the lives of animals to make atonement for man’s sin. Adam’s shame was covered by a death sacrifice and the covering of the skin as Adam was to wear the testimony of that death. It revealed God’s willingness to give life to redeem the life of mankind.

When the law was given, it was only given for the hope of the day when the law would no longer be needed. In the Old Covenant, no one was saved through law. Those who kept the law were saved through Jesus without knowing it because the law cannot save anyone. God made provisions that pointed to the day when Jesus would be revealed as the Lamb who was slain before men sinned. So, the law and the prophets were until John. They were provisions for the kingdom of Israel. They were provisions given to Israel for the world to look at the kingdom of Israel and see the shadow of the kingdom of heaven that was destined to come to the hearts of all men. People should seek to act like God. They should desire to be like God in their character, nature, way, power and authority. The law was a provision for men to act correctly. It would not save men, but only empower men to make a confession of what God is like – I want to be like that. The law was a provision given to the kingdom of Israel, but it was not the administration of the kingdom of God. It only manifested the need for the administration of the kingdom heaven in the human heart. The law controlled the external actions of men, but it could not transform the hearts of men within.

Human beings ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God did not. The kingdom of God was never in jeopardy. The administration of life was never in trouble. Grace was not a new idea, it was always the plan of God for all of mankind. Only intimacy with God in our hearts changes our hearts. The kingdom of God is so powerful that even some people in the kingdom of Israel found God invading their system and they experienced God’s grace in various measures. They sometimes found themselves in a government that was under the law, but experiencing the testimony of God’s mercy and grace. Such was the case with king David. At times, they would even have a new heart and mind in measures, but they were still bound to the kingdoms of men and they longed for the kingdom of God. Even the least empowered by the internal kingdom of life is greater than the best governed by the external measures of law.

I have just finished a great weekend with Pastor Paulo Cardos and some great people in Luxembourg. God was very good in His word and His presence. I believe that there is going to be increased fruitfulness from all that happened here. Thank you so much Pastor Paulo and all the hungry people here.

God’s grace is His manifest presence in our lives and His manifest presence transforms who we are. Our earthly realities become heavenly testimonies by the power of God’s grace. I have friends who believe they understand grace and they reject Paul’s writings because they say he was a law man. But the more I read Paul, the more I believe he was a man who understood and lived in grace. He understood that grace casts a shadow that looks like law. His number one passion was to free his Jewish brothers from being under the law. God sent him to gentiles, people who didn’t understand or desire the law. These were people who didn’t even know there was a law. God sent him as an apostle to gentiles, people who were not people of the Torah / Temple culture of society. I think it was God’s gift to Paul. I think it was God’s gift so Paul could be changed by grace. I also believe Paul was God’s gift to the Gentiles because he had a revelation of the shadow of grace. Law is a shadow of grace that is real. We were not intended to live our lives under the administration of law, but an administration of grace in our lives will cause us to cast a shadow in life that looks like obedience to the law.

Paul was Saul of Tarsaus. He was a Pharisee of Pharisees, he was a law man. He was under the law more than most people are today. The law is good, but it is not God. It is good, it is not bad. It is good in its correct place and its first correct place is it is good enough to tell someone they need God. But needing God is not enough. Finding Him, embracing Him, being transformed by Him and becoming the word of God that others can see is what is necessary. The word became flesh and moved into the neighborhood so that every fleshly neighborhood could become an expression of God – the word. God expressed Himself in flesh so that all flesh could become an expression of God. The law is a written expression of God.

In Romans chapter 7 Paul wrote to his Jewish brothers. He wanted them to find the faith to no longer be under the law. He wanted to be sure that no one is tricked to be under the law again.

Romans 7:1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? 2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. 4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter. 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. 9 I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. 12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

These verses are not talking about marriage. These are not verses intended for a husband to use to keep their wife in bondage to the law of marriage. Paul was using terminology that people of the law thought they understood to present a truth concerning grace. Mercy pronounces us dead. We cannot be tried for the same crime again because we have already been found guilty of mercy. The end of the law is mercy. Mercy has triumphed over the judgment of law. Paul wrote to the church of Corinth that when Christ died everyone died. In verse 4 or Romans chapter 7, Paul confirmed that law is dead and it is time to marry Christ – to marry the administration of grace.

The law only served to showed us our sentence. It showed us our judgment. It revealed that we must all die, but Jesus made a way for us to die, but live! He made a way for the sentence of death to be completed with a provision of resurrection life in Christ for all who believe. This is the power of grace! We can only live if we get married again. We were married to the law, but the law died! Now we get to marry another, we get to marry grace. We get to embrace the Holy Spirit and marry grace. He empowers us. He changes us. Grace transforms our lives by the manifest power of Christ in us!

Today I am in Bulgaria. I have had a great time in Sofia and Plovdiv. Tomorrow I will go to Blagoevgrad and I know that God will do good things. It is wonderful to be with hungry, willing, and teachable people. There is great hope in the nation of Bulgaria. The influence of the kingdom of heaven is moving in the hearts of many.

God’s grace is at work among the people of God in the nations of the earth. I believe we are in a season of the increasing grace of God upon the earth. God’s grace is available, but His grace must be something that we find when we boldly come to live before and from His throne of grace. There is a testimony to embrace in the power of God’s grace. Jesus made it so the world can be under grace, but each one of us must first lose our lives so we can save them. We must lay our lives down so we can truly find the life we were intended to live. If we want beauty, we must let go of our ashes. If we want praise, we have to let go of our heaviness. If we want good news, we must let go of your poverty. We must receive a change of government in our lives to see a different fruit in our lives.

Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,3 to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

The good news is the substance of His riches in our lives instead of the emptiness of our poverty. We cannot grip the poverty of our old kingdom and be able to receive the riches of God’s kingdom. One is a characteristic of the kingdoms of the knowledge of good and evil and the other is a substance of life from the tree of life. One is a reality of a kingdom under conscience and law and the other is a reality of the kingdom of grace and truth. We must let go of our broken hearts to receive the healing He gives to make them whole. We must release our captivity to receive the liberty that is ours from Him. We must let go of our prison cells to be empowered to walk through the open doors. The door is opened, but we must let go of the prison environment and walk through the open door. We must be willing to move from our old environments into the environment of heaven. We must let go of being disinherited and receive the inheritance that comes by His acceptance of our lives. We must let go of our enemies as the vengeance of God destroys them. If we grasp unto the enemies of our past the destruction of God’s presence will create an environment of discomfort and even what appears to be harmful in our lives. We must let go of our mourning to receive the consolation of His presence and word. We must let go of our ashes to receive the beauty that is ours in Him. We must let go of our sorrow to receive the joy of the new day. We must let go of the spirit of heaviness to be clothed in the praise of His name. Grace is the presence and power of God in our lives that changes our old environments to the heavenly environments of God. It involves a change in our character, nature, way, power, and authority. It includes a change in our beliefs, our actions, our imaginations and our influence in life.

In presenting a culture of grace I want to propose that the kingdoms of the world still live in a culture of law. A culture of law can only offer poverty, broken heartedness, captivity, bondage, disinheritance, oppression, deception, blindness, mourning, loneliness, shame, condemnation, sorrow, heaviness, and all the fruit of unrighteouness. Grace doesn’t free the world from a culture of law. It invites them to come to the place of the kingdom of God where grace frees them from a culture of law. Grace doesn’t mean we don’t change. It means we finally really change. Instead of being informed we become transformed and our hearts and minds change. Our desires change. Our focus changes. How we see things changes? The way we are changes! Grace empowers us to reign in life.

I am home this weekend after several weeks on the road. It was good to be in my home church community. Pastor Jonathan did a fantastic job challenging all of us to embrace the Holy Spirit and the testimony of His power in our lives in a fresh way. As I face this week, I am ready to embrace the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit as I head to Bulgaria in a couple of days.

The Holy Spirit is the power of God’s grace at work in our lives. Outside of Christ mankind is bound to an administration of the knowledge of good and evil. In Christ, we find the liberty of an administration of the Tree of Life. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is an administration of information and by it humanity is limited by the external forces of information and thus they are bound from receiving true change in their hearts and minds. In Christ, we receive the internal transforming force of life. In Christ, we are empowered by God’s grace, but before we were in Christ we were under the law or under the influence of our own human conscience. Law is an informing force. The human conscience is the same. An administration of information restrained us, but it didn’t change us. It communicated to us our need for something more. Don’t kill anyone. You shall not murder. These are mere informing commands of law. There are always people who break the law, but if you break the law you suffer the consequence of breaking the law. People who break the law try to get away with it as much as they possibly can without getting caught, but when they are discovered they suffer the consequence of breaking the law. The truth is; perversions in their character, nature, way, power, and authority are the true source of their transgression of the law or even the violation of their own conscience. They ignore the law and their conscience and even seek to redefine them both according to their own thinking and desires. Law or conscience only manifest their internal flaws.

Law doesn’t really change us. It just makes us a killer in prison or it makes us a killer restrained from acting upon our internal desire to kill. If we have a soft spot in us of any kind, we may begin to think there must be something more. What have I done? What did I do? I don’t want to be in this situation anymore. A violator of the law does not just need to be free from prison, but to have a changed life so they never go to prison again. Grace is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives that empowers us to never need to go to prison. We all find ourselves in different kinds of prisons in life. If you find yourself in a prison of some sort because you made a mistake, Grace doesn’t just free you from prison; it changes your character and heart so you will never go to prison again. Law puts people in prison, or restrains them from acting in a way that will put them there. Even human conscience can put you into a prison of guilt and condemnation, but it cannot give you the freedom of transformational change. Jesus didn’t come so there would be no more law! He didn’t come so we could rejoice in the death of law. Outside of Christ there is plenty of law and plenty of prisons. There are righteous laws and righteous prisons, but they don’t have the ability to change the hearts and minds of men. They are a lower level of government than where humans should live. Humans should live with their minds in heavenly places. Their hearts are meant to be in a relationship with a heavenly God living by a higher law. That law is one of love. Love produces a fruit of change that looks like law, but it is really an internal passion.

Let me define law a moment. Gravity is a law. It is a good thing if you don’t violate it. It works for us when we use it rightly. It prevents us from floating around in the air. Losing the law of gravity would require another law to bring stability. We may have to install magnets to our shoes and use the law of magnetic attraction. Magnetic attraction can be a higher law when gravity is missing. These laws are not harmful when these laws serve us. If we jump off a high building the law of gravity is not going to serve us. We are going to come under the law of gravity and plummet to the ground and suffer the consequence. We cannot break a law, we can only violate it and then it breaks us. This is true is all laws.

My son fly’s helicopters. You must apply laws to the helicopter that serve the piece of metal and make it go in the air. Lift, thrust, and propulsion are all laws of physics that are necessary to defy the law of gravity and make that metal object fly. You must put those three laws into effect to prevent the metal box from falling out of the air.  When you put those laws together in a way that serves the desired result, those laws become a blessing to the desire for flight. I am trying to paint a picture that reveals that Jesus didn’t come to get rid of law. He came to get us to no longer be under law. Law is a witness of us. The shadow of our lives should be a testimony of what law looks like. In the law, you shall not kill. This law is simply a witness to our character, nature, and way. We don’t serve it, it is a testimony of us. You shall not commit adultery is not a law you are under, it is a witness of you when your character, nature, and way are empowered by grace in Christ. That is all it is. It is a witness of you. You shall not steel what belongs to your neighbor is a testimony of your external witness of your internal character, nature, and way. You are not under the law. It doesn’t rule you. It speaks of you. It testifies of what you are like. Some people think that when we come into grace there is no law. Some people come into grace and they want to put the world into a system of grace and there is no law. The world cannot live in grace. They must live under law! They are under law until they boldly come and receive mercy. They must boldly come and they then must find grace. You cannot give it to them. It is something that each one must find!

Greetings;

Today I have returned home after several weeks on the road. My foot is mending, but I am still depending upon assistance as I travel through the various airports I have been in. My heart is full of thoughts of testimonies of God’s grace working in the various places I have been. In the past weeks, I have seen the influence of God’s grace in the Netherlands, Ireland, Wales, England, Spain, and more of England. God is at work in the hearts and minds of men and women in the earth.

When I was a sinner it was because I wanted to be a sinner. I was looking for love in all the wrong places. I did not seek the kingdom of God through the internal portal of my heart. I sought to be satisfied by the external pleasures of the world. My quest for satisfying myself left me bound to the forces of my own carnal desire. That desire also opened my heart and mind to the forces of deceptive and evil spirits. I was not seeking to be evil, I was simply a slave to sin. It was a motivation of my life. It was a passion of my heart. It wasn’t informational, it was motivational. My motive was one inspired by the force and power of sin.

Romans 6:22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

We used to be slaves to sin. We were under the influence of sin, but now we are under the influence of God. In a sense, we have become slaves to God. A desire within us is motivating our hearts and minds to be bound to God in all things. We are addicted to God! We are under the influence of God! We are captured by God in our hearts and in our minds. The word ‘slave’ in this Scripture is not implying bondage, but a strong hold. It is the ‘strong hold’ of God’s love. God’s grace in our lives is His grip in our lives. Grace empowers us to demonstrate change in our lives more than law does. Grace produces the fruit of holiness and the end is incorruptible everlasting life, but we have a few days in-between now and the end. God wants us to live those days under the influence of grace.

I believe that the grace of God in the earth is increasing. I believe that Holy Spirit began a good work and is continually increasing in that work. I believe we can experience a greater grace than our parents were able to experience. This in not greater love. It is simply a greater grace because of then and because of now. We can be under the influence of a greater grace than our grandparents could because of the grace they did experience. God is increasing the mountain of His glory in the earth. That mountain is a mountain of His influence in the earth. Grace is increasing. We are not smarter, we are just further in the journey. We are further in the journey of God’s relationship with humanity and humanities relationship with God. The influence of God’s grace even has an effect in natural ways and in practical things. The practical things of the world are the result of God’s grace. Clean water, a place to sleep, improved natural conditions; these are not salvation, but a fruit of salvation at work in the earth. Even education was influenced by grace, but none of those things are life. They are simply the evidence that life is having an effect in the nations of the world.

If we embrace grace we can no longer embrace law. If we embrace law it hinders us from embracing grace. Law exists outside of Christ. God did not do away with law. He just raised us up to a higher level. We were under the law, but Jesus enabled us to be above the law and under grace. The law was the shadow of something good that was coming. When humans could not be under the influence of the better thing they were under the influence of the law. We were bound to be under the influence of law. We were under a lower administration. It was not a heavenly administration. It was an earthly administration. It was informational evidence of something that was already true in heaven and was destined to be the true empowerment of the human heart and soul. The law was good, but God’s grace is God working in the hearts and minds of those who believe. Grace is the only power that can eradicate the influence of sin and death in our lives. Law longed for the day of grace, but it could never free us from the day of sin and death. Grace is the testimony of the eternal Day of the Lord at work in our hearts and minds.

Jesus didn’t set us free from the law. He set us free from the law of sin and death. Now the law serves a different purpose in our lives. The law is not something we are under. The law is under us. It is a shadow of who we are becoming in Christ. The shadow is for those who are still stuck in an administration of law. Our lives should cast a shadow that looks like law to those who are still living in the strong holds of sin. The human quest of carnal desire still leaves men and women bound to an influence of deception and evil spirits. Only in Christ can they be transformed by a greater influence. That influence in the internal power of God’s grace. Law has one purpose. It is simply the shadow of grace. The shadow is informational evidence that there is a God and each of us needs Him. God invites all people to be under the influence of His grace. He desires for all people to be intoxicated in His love and transformed by the power of His grace!

Today I am in Spain for a week of prophetic training with G42 after a great week in Ireland, Wales, and England. I was blessed to be with some great people and great ministries. New Covenant Life and grace is happening in the earth. Don’t focus on the bad news, there is a lot of good news to be found. God’s grace is empowering us to reign in life.

Grace makes us right people in Christ and being right people in Christ gives us the power to reign in life. God wants us to be righteous, but our righteousness is not of the flesh. It is a righteousness that is found in Christ. I believe that there are two ways we are made righteous. Mercy qualifies us to be children of God and a righteousness by God’s mercy is enough to get us to heaven. Grace also changes who we are and that it is enough to get heaven in us. God’s grace enables what is in heaven to become something heavenly in our lives here upon the earth. How He is, is how we become in this world. It is an increasing glory!

Romans 5:21 …so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In these verses the Holy Spirit is proactive in our lives. Something is happening. He is causing us to reign in life. Sin reigned before, but now grace reigns. There must be a change. There must be a change in our desires, thoughts, reasoning, strategy of thoughts, a change in our imaginations, and even a change in our emotions. There is a change in us, because Christ is in us and grace empowers us to reign in life. It is a continual increasing glory unto eternal life. I believe it goes with us into heaven, but it also increases in the lives of people in this earth because of us after we go to heaven. We are not on this earth just to live a life and then move on. We are on this earth to bring the influence of heaven in and through our lives that affects the world around us and affects the world beyond us. So, when we go to heaven something heavenly is still happening in the earth because of us. That is the power of grace. That is stronger than the power of law. It is in us and through us, not merely a controlling instruction to us.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Our old man died in Christ, but then our new life was raised in Christ. The life we live, we live in Christ. It isn’t just a grace to get us to heaven. Mercy justifies us to go to heaven and surely grace will get us there, but the objective is to walk in newness of life in this world. Every year we grow in Christ we should walk in an increasing reality of a newness of life. There should be an n increasing glory. There should be a continually increasing character change in each of us. We should increasingly experience a newness of nature and way.  It should be seen in the way we do things and the way we think, and it affects the way we act. We should walk in an increasing newness of power and authority. Our influence of life into this world should increase. It is good news for our friends and for our neighbors. It is good news for our spouses,  our children, and our grandchildren. It is good news for every area of responsibility in our lives and for the people within the sphere of our influence in life. Grace is empowering us to walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

We are under the influence of grace. Being under the influence is being under the power of something. In the law, we are under the influence of obligation and condemnation. Being under grace puts us under the influence of a change in, nature, way, increasing power, and authority. God’s grace puts us under the influence of true liberty. True liberty gives life to others. Grace doesn’t give us liberty that gives us life while destroying others. It is a liberty that gives life in every way.

Grace empowers us to walk in newness of life. We don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit – but we do walk. We accept the practical responsibilities of our lives. We fulfill our practical responsibilities in a grace empowered way. Grace empowers us to be good friends and neighbors as citizen of heaven and earth upon the earth. It can be seen in the way we steward our possessions. It is evident in the way we accept our responsibilities of taking care of our homes and our yards in a life-giving spiritual way. It is by God’s grace that we are who we are. It is by grace that we do what we do. We are under the influence of grace. Grace is not just a theory. Grace is the presence of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives.
