I am back in Bellingham, and I have enjoyed several days with Bonnie doing some needed tasks at home. The sun has been shining, but today is a day of needed rain. I have been writing on the theme of the New Song and I want to continue on that theme today.
The New Song is a testimony of an intimate relationship with God each and every day. In Christ, every day is TODAY, and the time is always NOW. Every experience with God is TODAY and every testimony of God is discovered in the time called NOW. To live for ourselves is to be stuck in some moment of time in the past or to live for some time in the future that is yet to come. We cannot experience the full testimony of God’s life in our old way of flesh. Our old way leaves us bound to some bitter root of legalism or lawlessness. Only in Christ can we find the freedom of a personal testimony that destroys the strongholds of the knowledge of good and evil. God wants us to experience Him each and every day. This is the place of the New Song in Christ. It is a testimony of a family tree of life.
When we experience God in our lives the fruit is a testimony of life. That life is not just for us but for others in our world. Our attitudes, confessions, and actions are meant to bring life to others. When we live with the life of self, a body of flesh, we cannot bring life to our world. Only as a member of the body of Christ can we bring the life of Christ to our world.
Psalms 45:1 My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
When we live in a relationship with Jesus as His bride, we experience the blessings of the life that He gives, the words that He speaks to us, and the invitation that He gives to us to come alongside of Him as His wife – His co-partner for the purpose and will of God our Father in all things. It is through connection with God as the body of Christ that we become expressions of His life to our world. Our connection to God joins us to Him where we receive His desires within our hearts. It is from the desires of Christ within us that we experience His righteousness and bring His life to our world.
Psalms 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
God’s faithfulness to us is each and every day. God is good TODAY and we can feed on His faithfulness NOW. Our delight in Him can give us the desires that will enable us to be the body of Christ for the will of Christ in our world. This is our hope of glory. That glory is to reveal the character, nature, way, power, and authority of God in and through our lives. God’s presence in our lives is our hope. Our hope is not in instructions from Him as to what to do or how to act. Our hope is found in the transformation that comes into our lives and into our world when we experience His presence in us. Only by experiencing God in our lives can we reveal His testimony through our lives to make a difference in our world. It is a supernatural testimony of God’s love. It’s not a power of independent strength, but strength of God’s love working on our behalf. The will of God begins with knowing who Christ is in us and who we are in Him. Sacrifice and offerings are not what He desires, but a body He has prepared to do His will. That body is the dwelling place of God’s Spirit for His purpose and will in all things. This is the place of the New Song in our lives.
