Our Connection is in the Spirit

Greetings,

I am now back in the United States. It was great to be home for Thanksgiving and lots of time and overnight time with my grandchildren. Yesterday I was blessed to minister at Everyone’s Church in Mt. Vernon, Washington. They have had to face the loss of a dear brother in Christ and it was good to focus on our fellowship with the Holy Spirit. God is in us, with us, and upon us in this world.

Holy Spirit is the Helper that Jesus promised would come. He is God with, in, and upon our lives. He transforms our lives, inside and out. Jesus told His disciples that the Helper would bring to remembrance the things that He had said. Holy Spirit brings to remembrance the things that Jesus said. The only place we can hear God in a way that changes our world is to hear Him in our hearts. We cannot just hear God in the room externally and be changed. External voices are informational, but the internal voice of the Holy Spirit transforms our lives. It is not what anyone says from God to us in the external hearing of our ears that transforms us. It is the voice of the Holy Spirit in our hearts that will transform our lives. External voices are informational. The internal voice of the Holy Spirit is transformational. When we fellowship Holy Spirit, we are choosing to move into the direction of transformational realities. How does that happen?

We don’t hear God with our souls. We hear God with our spirits. Why? Because when God created us He created us from the substance of Himself.

Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

God spoke to Himself. The plurality of God as One God spoke to Himself in the creation of man, male and female. He gave man dominion over the works of His hands, male and female. The us of God was the Father, the Word, and the Spirit as the triune God of life. It was from the Spirit of God that the inner substance of man, male and female, was created. The human spirit is the connecting portal for a relationship with God in the Spirit. It is through our spirits that we maintain an intimate relationship with the giver of life, the expresser of life, and the worker of life in all things. I believe that man in Genesis chapter 1 was spirit. This is God’s perspective in His relationship with man. We must remain connected to our life source to be empowered with the life of God. The spirit within us must abide in the Spirit of God to be human. We were born to live and to be life, to be an expression of life and to bring life into all things. Animals, trees, rocks, and other forms of creation were not created for that. Physical food gives life to our flesh, but flesh alone cannot subdue and bring life-giving dominion to the world. The natural creation of the world cannot change the world, it can only provide for the world. We are human beings. We can change the world. But we can only change the world through a personal connection with God in the Spirit. We don’t fellowship the Holy Spirit so we will merely know what to do. We fellowship the Holy Spirit because we need to change the world. Only God can change the world and we can abide together with Him in the Spirit. We need a little mystery. Even the charisma of tongues is a mystery that is beyond the limits of natural understanding. What is the importance of the foolish words it seems to express? What a wonderful, wonderful gift. Where is the source of this gift? When I pray in tongue I know where I am planted. I am in my life source. I am in the substance of what God spoke to when I was created. It is giving expression to the mystery of heaven being released into my spirit.

Blessings,
